chocolate buttercream frosting
This is my go-to chocolate frosting. I use it on my Awesome Chocolate Cake. It is the perfect combo for the chocoholic in your life!

Makes approximately 3 cups of frosting
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 3/4-1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoon cold coffee
How To Make chocolate buttercream frosting

Step 1In large bowl, cream butter with electric mixer. Add cocoa and vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add cream and coffee and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. Makes about 3 cups of frosting.
