Ingredients

1/2 c
butter, softened
1 c
sugar
2
eggs
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
baking cocoa
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 c
buttermilk
1/3 c
pecans, chopped

(CHOCOLATE HONEY BUTTER)

1/2 c
butter, softened
2 Tbsp
honey
2 Tbsp
chocolate syrup

How to Make Buttermilk Chocolate Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

    In a mixing bowl - cream the butter and sugar
  • 2Add eggs; one at a time, beating well after each addition
  • 3In a seperate mixing bowl - combine the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda
  • 4Add the 2nd mixture to the cream mixture while alternately adding buttermilk
  • 5Fold in pecans
  • 6Pour into a greased 9 X 5 X 3-inch loaf pan
  • 7Bake at 350 degrees F for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
  • 8Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack
  • 9In a mixing bowl - mix butter, honey and chocolate syrup; mix well
  • 10Serve the Chocolate Honey Butter mixture with the bread
