Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup pecans, chopped
  • (CHOCOLATE HONEY BUTTER)
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

How To Make buttermilk chocolate bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F In a mixing bowl - cream the butter and sugar
  • Step 2
    Add eggs; one at a time, beating well after each addition
  • Step 3
    In a seperate mixing bowl - combine the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda
  • Step 4
    Add the 2nd mixture to the cream mixture while alternately adding buttermilk
  • Step 5
    Fold in pecans
  • Step 6
    Pour into a greased 9 X 5 X 3-inch loaf pan
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 degrees F for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
  • Step 8
    Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack
  • Step 9
    In a mixing bowl - mix butter, honey and chocolate syrup; mix well
  • Step 10
    Serve the Chocolate Honey Butter mixture with the bread
