This was a recipe that developed over time. My children began to feel like lab rats but now, to this day, it is the one dessert they request when they come to visit!

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    cane sugar
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    cocoa, unsweetened
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 c
    water
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • TOPPING FOR BAKED BROWNIES(FROST WHEN HOT OUT OF OVEN)

  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 c
    cane sugar
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate chips

How to Make Brownies made with Love

Step-by-Step

  1. Bring butter and water to a boil and remove from heat.
  2. In decent sized mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.Add the water/butter mix to the dry, beating on medium speed, add the 1/2 c. milk, then the eggs, and mix till smooth.(may have a few very tiny lumps)
  3. pour into a greased and floured jellyroll pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
  4. While brownies are still hot, mix the first 3 items for the topping in a pan over medium heat, bring to boil.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in the chocolate chips till smooth.
  6. Spread over hot brownies. :)
