Ingredients

12 oz box crispy corn and rice chex cereal
1-1/2 c
mixed nuts, salt free or lightly salted
1/2 c
light brown sugar
1/2 c
light corn syrup
1/2 c
butter
2 c
semisweet chocolate chips, or chocolate covered raisins

How to Make After-school snack mix

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven to 300. In a foil roasting pan, combine cereal and nuts. In microwaveable bowl, microwave brown sugar, corn syrup and butter, on high, stirring every 30 seconds until butter is melted, stir.
  • 2Pour syrup mix over cereal, stir gently to coat. Bake 30 mins, stirring 2 times. Remove from oven. Lightly spray a baking sheet w/ cooking spray. Spread mix onto baking sheet and let cool.
  • 3Meanwhile clean and wipe down roasting pan. Break cereal mix into pieces. return mix to roasting pan. Stir in chocolate chips, or raisins. Cover.
