Ingredients

  • 1
    12 oz box crispy corn and rice chex cereal
  • 1-1/2 c
    mixed nuts, salt free or lightly salted
  • 1/2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    semisweet chocolate chips, or chocolate covered raisins

How to Make After-school snack mix

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 300. In a foil roasting pan, combine cereal and nuts. In microwaveable bowl, microwave brown sugar, corn syrup and butter, on high, stirring every 30 seconds until butter is melted, stir.
  2. Pour syrup mix over cereal, stir gently to coat. Bake 30 mins, stirring 2 times. Remove from oven. Lightly spray a baking sheet w/ cooking spray. Spread mix onto baking sheet and let cool.
  3. Meanwhile clean and wipe down roasting pan. Break cereal mix into pieces. return mix to roasting pan. Stir in chocolate chips, or raisins. Cover.
