Witch's Hands!

We have been making these since I was a girl. My mother used to go all out for every holiday. One year my daughter and I made 300 of these hands to give out for trick or treaters... a fun project and something different to hand out. We could hear children yelling out to others, "Go to that house! They have cool treats!"

*** You can also used already popped corn, Cheetos, Cheese balls, Fritos, etc... But popcorn is my favorite!

*** I use food service gloves (I get them at the deli department of my grocery store) or I use Powder-Free surgical gloves.

Ingredients

  • POPCORN

  • 6 c
popped popcorn (I prefer air-popped corn, but this time I used microwave popcorn, I have also used store bought pre-popped corn or Cheetos)
  • 20
pieces Indian corn or candy corn
  • HANDS

  • 4 large
powder-free surgical gloves or food service gloves
  • 4
rubber bands, bread ties or pieces of ribbon (to seal the "hand bags")
  • 1 small
sharp knife (to poke a small hole in fingertips of gloves)

How to Make Witch's Hands!

Step-by-Step

  1. Pop your popcorn (about 6 cups when popped).
  2. Set out the food service or powder-free surgical gloves.
  3. Using a small sharp knife, poke a small hole in the tip of a finger in the glove.
  4. Gently push an Indian Corn or candy corn through the hole in the fingertip to create a "fingernail".
  5. Repeat until all of the "fingernails" are in place.
  6. Put popcorn in the fingers of the glove.
  7. Fill the rest of the glove to form the hand.
  8. Seal the "hand bag" with a rubber band, bread tie or a piece of ribbon.
