thelma's penuche fudge
(1 RATING)
This recipe is from my mom's church cookbook, which was submitted by a lady named Thelma. I haven't made this yet but wanted to post the recipe for Kelly since she is looking for a Penuche recipe. Whenever I make this I will be sure to add more details if I see that to be helpful.

- 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup half & half
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts
How To Make thelma's penuche fudge
-
Step 1Combine sugar, milk and butter in a saucepan. Boil with as little stirring as possible until it reaches the soft ball stage. Remove from heat.
-
Step 2Stir in vanilla then fold in nuts. Beat until thick and cool enough to knead.
-
Step 3Knead gently then place on a buttered platter. If it's too hot to knead, you can just pour onto the butter platter. Cool then cut.
