This recipe is from my mom's church cookbook, which was submitted by a lady named Thelma.

I haven't made this yet but wanted to post the recipe for Kelly since she is looking for a Penuche recipe.

Whenever I make this I will be sure to add more details if I see that to be helpful.

2 c
firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c
half & half
1 Tbsp

1 tsp
vanilla extract
3/4 c
chopped nuts

How to Make Thelma's Penuche Fudge

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine sugar, milk and butter in a saucepan. Boil with as little stirring as possible until it reaches the soft ball stage. Remove from heat.
  • 2Stir in vanilla then fold in nuts. Beat until thick and cool enough to knead.
  • 3Knead gently then place on a buttered platter. If it's too hot to knead, you can just pour onto the butter platter. Cool then cut.
