Ingredients For sugared cranberries

    granulated sugar
  • 2 md
    cinnamon sticks
  • 6
    whole cloves
  • 3 c
  • 3 c
    fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1 c
    superfine sugar

How To Make sugared cranberries

    Mix together the first four (4) ingredients. Bring to a boil, over medium heat. Simmer for 1 minute, stirring until sugar dissolves.

    Remove from heat and pour into a bowl. Stir in cranberries, cover and refrigerate for 8 hours. Drain cranberries, reserving liquid.Strain liquid into bowl. See note.

    Place sugar in a bowl and gently toss cranberries , coating well and evenly. Place on a large tray or cookie sheet to dry; about 1 to 2 hour air dry. Store in an airtight container or package for gift giving. Use within 3 or 4 days.

    Note: Use: Strain out cinnamon sticks and cloves and use liquid as a simple syrup in cocktails, cakes, breads, pies muffins,cupcake decoration or in dips.
