How to Make Rock Candy
- Cover an 18*24 inch strip of heavy duty foil or a large cookie sheet with powdered sugar. Mix the sugar, syrup and water in a large, heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Boil without stirring until the temperature reaches 310 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from heat.
- Stir in flavoring oil and food coloring. Pour onto powdered sugar and cool.
- Break into pieces or cut strips, work quickly before it cools.
