These are Christmas candies that we would make with my grandma every year. I like them without any coating so I always leave some by themselves. To complete the Christmas candy, also make chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered marshmallows

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 3 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 packages (6 oz each) butterscotch pieces
  • 1 pound sifted sugar (4 1/2 cups)
  • 2 packages (6oz each) semi-sweet chocolate

How To Make peanut bon bons

  • Step 1
    IN a saucepan, melt peanut butter and butter.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, combine powder sugar and cereal; pour peanut butter mixture. Blend together with hands.
  • Step 3
    Form into 1/2" balls. Chill firm.
  • Step 4
    Melt butterscotch and chocolate pieces in separate double boilers. Dip have the candies in each coating. Place on waxed paper lined baking sheets.
