My mother got this recipe from her sister, a favorite Aunt of mine named Juanita who lived in Dallas, Texas for years. My Mother made this fudge for the four of us children and I have made it so many times for my two sons, siblings and grandchildren. It is so yummy!!! I named it Love.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup karo
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 dash salt
  • - nuts, optional

How To Make mother's love fudge

  • Step 1
    Melt butter over medium heat and add cocoa, remove from heat
  • Step 2
    Add evaporated milk, sugar and karo
  • Step 3
    Bring to a boil over medium heat
  • Step 4
    Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes
  • Step 5
    Remove from heat and add vanilla
  • Step 6
    Hand beat until smooth and mixture begins to make a popping sound and begins to thicken.
  • Step 7
    Optional: Mix in chopped pecans, walnuts or peanut butter
  • Step 8
    Pour into buttered platter and allow to set.
  • Step 9
    Serve and enjoy.
