My mother got this recipe from her sister, a favorite Aunt of mine named Juanita who lived in Dallas, Texas for years. My Mother made this fudge for the four of us children and I have made it so many times for my two sons, siblings and grandchildren. It is so yummy!!! I named it Love.

  • 1 stick
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c
    evaporated milk
  • 2 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 dash(es)
  • ·
    nuts, optional

How to Make Mother's Love Fudge


  1. Melt butter over medium heat and add cocoa, remove from heat
  2. Add evaporated milk, sugar and karo
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat
  4. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla
  6. Hand beat until smooth and mixture begins to make a popping sound and begins to thicken.
  7. Optional: Mix in chopped pecans, walnuts or peanut butter
  8. Pour into buttered platter and allow to set.
  9. Serve and enjoy.
