4 cgranulated sugar
1 cwhite karo syrup
1 cchopped pecans
1 cchopped dates
How to Make Mother's Heavenly Hash
- Mix the first 3 ingredients, sugar, syrup and milk and cook until firm ball stage. Add the chopped pecans and chopped dates. The dates should be especially small chopped, using scissors works good.
- Boil an additional 3 minutes after adding nuts and dates. Beat until stiff and dull... this could take a while depending on how strong you are. Put out on board and work until firm and divide into 4 equal parts. Roll into 4 rolls (about 1" in diameter) and wrap in aluminum foil. Store in refrigerator or freezer. Cut into slices to serve. This is a delicious and unique candy.
