1 c
1 c
blanched, slivered almonds
1 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
white corn syrup
plain hershey bars (not king size)
1/2 c
finely chopped pecans

How to Make MEJA (SALLYE)


  • 1Melt butter in a cast iron skillet.

    Add almonds, sugar, water and corn syrup

    Cook on high flame, stirring constantly
  • 2Have some dark brown sugar sitting on the cabinet

    Cook candy until it is one shade darker than the sugar sitting on cabinet
  • 3Immediately pour and spread on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

    Break chocolate bars on top of hot candy and spread over candy

    Sprinkle with pecans
  • 4Cool and break into pieces and enjoy
