Every Christmas my MIL makes these...it wouldn't be the same without them. I think these are my FIL's favorite home made candy. LOL I have put regular measurements in parenthesis.

Ingredients
- 1 quart pecans chopped (4 cups)
- 1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 boxes powdered sugar ( 2 pounds or about 8 cups)
- 1 can coconut (3 1/2 ounces or 1 1/3 cups)***see note
- chocolate to dip
How To Make martha washingtons

Step 1Pour milk over ingredients and mix. Chill overnight.

Step 2Roll into balls about the size of marbles.

Step 3Dip the balls into two melted large bags of chocolate chips blended with 1/2 block of cooking paraffin. Really, any sort of dipping chocolate will do. I often use chocolate almond bark.

Step 4NOTE***Back in the day (and I'm told even still in some places) coconut came in a can. It is grated coconut, not coconut milk. I entered the recipe exactly as my MIL gave it to me, the put the actual measurements in parenthesis.
