1 qtpecans chopped (4 cups)
1 stickbutter (1/2 cup)
1 can(s)sweetened condensed milk
2 boxpowdered sugar ( 2 pounds or about 8 cups)
1 can(s)coconut (3 1/2 ounces or 1 1/3 cups)***see note
How to Make Martha Washingtons
- Pour milk over ingredients and mix. Chill overnight.
- Roll into balls about the size of marbles.
- Dip the balls into two melted large bags of chocolate chips blended with 1/2 block of cooking paraffin.
Really, any sort of dipping chocolate will do. I often use chocolate almond bark.
- NOTE***Back in the day (and I'm told even still in some places) coconut came in a can. It is grated coconut, not coconut milk. I entered the recipe exactly as my MIL gave it to me, the put the actual measurements in parenthesis.
