Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup corn syrup
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 5oz cans evaporated milk
- 2 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 1-1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make homemade chocolate caramel candy

Step 1Combine all ingredients, except vanilla, in a heavy 3-quart saucepan; heat over med heat until mixture comes to a boil, stirring accasionally.

Step 2Heat until mixture reaches the firm-ball stage or 244 to 249 degrees on a candy thermometer; remove from heat.

Step 3Gradually stir in vanilla; pour into a buttered aluminum foil-lined 8x8 baking pan. Set aside to cool completely; lift caramel out of pan. Cut into one-inch squares; wrap individually in wax paper.
