Ingredients
- 2 cups cane sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup, dark
- 1/2 cup dark molasses
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk
- 1 cup butter
- - dash of salt
- 1 tablespoon anise oil or about 2-3 tablespoons anise extract
How To Make homemade black flavored licorice

Step 1Combine in a heavy saucepan over medium heat the sugar, molasses and corn syrup; mix well.

Step 2Add sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir constantly.

Step 3Bring mixture to a boil and gently boil to 232° on candy thermometer.

Step 4Stir in anise oil and remove from heat.

Step 5Pour into a foil lined greased foil 9x13-inch pan.

Step 6Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes then place in refrigerator for a few minutes.

Step 7Cut into bite size pieces and wrap in waxed paper or cellophane.
