My grandmother on my father's side is one of those sweet old ladies that always has cookies or candies ready for when company comes over. Especially around the holiday times!

Ingredients
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- dash salt
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups peanuts
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
How To Make grandma d's peanut brittle

Step 1Cover a cookie sheet with foil and butter the foil. Set aside.

Step 2In 6 quart pot, on medium heat, cook syrup, sugar, water and salt to thread stage (280 degrees).

Step 3Add vanilla and peanuts; stir.

Step 4Add baking soda and turn of heat.

Step 5While stirring, move over to your baking sheet; when you've stirred in the baking soda, pour onto buttered foil.

Step 6Let cool. Break into pieces to eat/store.
