  • 2 c
  • 1/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 8 - 10
    drops peppermint extract
  • ·
    red and green food coloring

How to Make Christmas Mints


  1. In 2 quart glass dish, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk & cream of tartar. Cook on High 5 - 6 minutes or until few drops in cold water forms soft ball (238 degrees)
  2. Let stand 3 minutes to cool.
  3. Beat with mixer until creamy. Flavor with 8 - 10 drops peppermint extract. Divide into half and add food coloring.
  4. Drop mixture by teaspoonful onto foil. When cool, store in airtight container.
