chocolate sea salt toffee
This simple, delicious toffee starts with saltine crackers. You can also use graham crackers for a sweeter creation.

Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, unsalted
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 1/2 packages saltine crackers
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- sea salt
How To Make chocolate sea salt toffee

Step 1Melt butter with brown sugar in a medium saucepan on medium heat.

Step 2While the mixture is heating, place 1.5 sleeves of saltines on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 3Bring butter and sugar to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 4Pour the hot sugar mixture over the saltines, making sure all crackers are well covered.

Step 5Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Step 6Remove from oven, and sprinkle semi-sweet morsels over crackers. Allow to sit for a couple of minutes. Then spread melted chocolate over crackers with a spatula.

Step 7Sprinkle with coarse salt before the chocolate begins to set.

Step 8Let set up in refrigerator for an hour.

Step 9Break apart and store in an airtight container.
