This was an accident. I was trying to make frosting and somewhere it all went south. What I thought was going to be frosting turned into a cheater type fudge so now this is how I make it. It's always soft, never dry and can be any flavor you want. It honestly takes longer to get your ingredients and measuring devices ready than it does to make this.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons filtered water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips - flavor of your choice
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped nuts if desired

How To Make accidental fudge by maggie

  • Step 1
Slowly melt butter in medium saucepan. Add the water then add the chips.
  • Step 2
Stir constantly until the chips are melted. You can leave the pot on very low while you are stirring or remove it from the stove. If you stir over the heat be very careful you don't scorch the chocolate.
  • Step 3
Stir in the powdered sugar and blend well. Add nuts if you are using them.
  • Step 4
Pour into a prepared loaf pan. Place in fridge to chill. Remove from fridge, lift from pan onto a cutting board. With a sharp knife cut into the size pieces you want. Store covered - no need to keep in fridge unless you like it cold.
