Wineberrys grow in our area wild and are great in a cake or pie.
They are similar in taste to raspberrys but milder & sweeter.
To me this is a very good recipe.
Try it ! Will work with blueberrys also.

all purpose flour
3/4 c
2 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
1/2 stick
unsalted butter melted
1 c
sour cream
2 tsp
vanilla extract
1 1/2 c
wineberrys (fresh or thawed frozen)
1/3 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp
1/2 stick
butter, unsalted cold firm

How to Make Wineberry Coffee Cake


  • 1In large bowl Sift 2 cups flour, sugar,baking powder,and salt.Add butter sour cream and egg and mix well with spoon.Fold in 1 cup of berrys.Spread in a greased 8x8x2 Sq. pan or 9x11x1 pan.
  • 2Combine 1/3 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon & cold butter with pastry blender to form crumbles.
    Sprinkle over batter & top with rest of berrys.
  • 3Bake in 375 degree oven for 30 min.or until tests done.Serve warm with butter or whipped cream.
