Ingredients For white maple brownies

  • BROWNIES
  • 1 c
    sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts chopped
  • 1/3 c
    unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 lg
    egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    white chocolate or vanilla baking chips
  • FROSTING
  • 1/4 c
    maple syrup (any good kind)
  • 1/4 c
    unsalted butter
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 pkg
    (8oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract or maple extract/flavoring if you prefer

How To Make white maple brownies

  • 1
    Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add nuts, mix well, and set aside. Preheat oven to 350° F.

    Melt 1/3 cup butter, add 1 cup brown sugar, and stir well. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Gradually combine with flour mixture, mixing well. Fold in white chocolate or vanilla baking chips. Pour into a 9-inch square pan and bake at 350° F for 20-25 minutes.

    To make the Sauce: Combine the syrup and butter, cook over low heat until butter is melted. Stir or gently whisk in brown sugar until dissolved and remove from heat. Add in cream cheese and vanilla or maple extract whisk until smooth. Return to heat until it reaches desired consistency.
