Imagined this combination as I made cupcakes for an Independence Day party...words such as "amazing" and "my cupcakes never taste like THIS!!" were flying out of people's mouths when they weren't filled with a cupcake!

Ingredients

  • CUPCAKES
  • 1 - duncan hines french vanilla cake mix
  • - ingredients to make the cake
  • CUPCAKE FILLING
  • 1-8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 ounces vanilla or white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • CREAM CHEESE ICING
  • 2-8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 stick salted butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

How To Make white chocolate cheesecake filled vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

  • Step 1
    Make cake mix according to directions on box for cupcakes. Fill lined cupcake tins 1/2 full.
  • Step 2
    Mix cream cheese, egg, sugar and white chocolate chips until well blended.
  • Step 3
    Add chips and beat for 3 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Drop a tablespoon of cream cheese mixture into each half filled cupcake liner.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes.
  • Step 6
    While cupcakes are baking, cream together butter, cream cheese and vanilla, add confectioners' sugar 1 cup at at time, beat until fluffy.
  • Step 7
    Once cupcakes are completely cooled, frost with cream cheese icing.
