Ingredients For washington state apple cake

  • 5 md
    apples, sliced thin
  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    cooking oil
  • 3 c
    flour (all purpose)
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    orange juice
  • 4
    eggs

How To Make washington state apple cake

  • 1
    Beat sugar and eggs together. Ad oil, orange juice and vanilla. Blend well. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together and add gradually to the sugar mixture.

    Grease and flour lightly a Bundt pan or 10 inch tube pan. Mix together the ingredients for the filling: Apples, cinnamon,sugar, walnuts and raisins. Pour half of batter in pan and add filling on top

    Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350' for 50--60 minutes. Check for doneness. Enjoy !

    You might want to top this cake with a dusting of confectioner's sugar or your favorite glaze. My favorite is a light cream cheese glaze.
