I found this recipe in a telephone book. It looked so easy that I just had to try it. It's really easy to make and so far only rave reviews from family and friends.

Ingredients
- 1 box cake mix, german chocolate
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 2 sticks margarine or butter
- 1 package cream cheese, 8 ounces
- 1 box powdered sugar (3 3/4 -4 cups)
How To Make upside down german chocolate cake
-
Step 1Grease 9x13 pan, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Step 2Put coconut in bottom of pan, add pecans.
-
Step 3Mix cake mix as directed on box. Pour over coconut and pecans. Do not overfill pan.
-
Step 4In bowl, mix 2 sticks of margarine, cream cheese & powdered sugar. Drop mixture by spoonfuls or spread over cake mix.
-
Step 5Bake 45 minutes - 1 hour. Do not overbake. Bake on cookie sheet (to catch excess & prevent cake from baking over into oven).
-
Step 6Let this molten goodness cool before cutting, so the cream cheese will have time to set or it will be like german chocolate cake pudding...LOL good anyway! May leave cake in pan or turn upside down before serving.
