Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese Icing

1 box18.5 oz white cake mix (i use duncan hines)

1 box3 oz strawberry jello
-
1 pkg10 oz frozen strawberries in syrup pureed

4 largeeggs
-
1/2 cvegetable oil
-
1/4 cwater
-
STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE ICING
-
1/4 cbutter softened
-
1 pkg8 oz cream cheese softened
-
1/4 cstrawberry puree
-
1/2 tspstrawberry extract
-
7 cconfectioners' sugar
How to Make Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese Icing
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Lightly grease 2 round 9" cake pans with Pam.
- In a large bowl combine cake mix and jello and mix until combined.
- Add 10 oz pureed strawberries, eggs, oil and water. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth.
- Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- To make icing. Beat butter and cream cheese in a large bowl on medium speed until creamy.
- Beat in strawberry puree and extract, scraping sides of bowl if needed.
- Gradually add confectioners' sugar and beat until smooth.
- Ice cooled cake.
