- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon clove, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
How To Make spice cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F.

Step 2Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking dish.

Step 3Sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, cinnamon, cloves, all spice, and nutmeg.

Step 4Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time.
