This is an easy, basic, pound cake. The recipe makes 2-3 loaves depending on the size of your pan. My handwritten recipe has the name Debbie Lutz on it but I don't know who that is so I'm not sure where I got this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 pound butter or margarine (i use butter)
  • 4 - eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla (do not use imitation, ever!)
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

How To Make sour cream loaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat over to 325 degrees
  • Step 2
    Grease 2 or 3 loaf pans
  • Step 3
    Cream together sugar and butter until fluffy
  • Step 4
    Mix dry ingredients together in separate bowl.
  • Step 5
    Add vanilla, almond and sour cream to butter mixture. Mix until well combined
  • Step 6
    Add flour mixture in gradually, mixing well after each addition.
  • Step 7
    Pour into greased loaf pans.
  • Step 8
    Sprinkle tops with cinnamon and sugar.
  • Step 9
    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour until pick comes out clean.
  • Step 10
    Let cool on wire rack before removing from pans.
