My mother made this cake when I was a child, it was my daddy's favorite.

oatmeal, uncooked
1 1/4 c
bowling water
1 stick
butter, room temperature
1 c
light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
white sugar
1 1/2 c
flour, self rising
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
cinnamon, ground


1 c

1 stick
butter at room temperature
1/3 c
evaporated milk
1 c
1/2 c
oatmeal, uncooked

How to Make Russian Cake


  • 1Mix Oatmeal and bowling water together in bowl, and let stand 20 minutes
  • 2Cream together: Butter, brown/white sugars and eggs.
  • 3Stir in oatmeal
  • 4Add flour, vailla and cinnamon. Mix well
  • 5Coat 9 X 13 cake pan with cooking spray. Bake at 350 derees for 25 - 30 minutes
  • 6Mix together all ingredients for topping.
  • 7Spread topping on warm cake
  • 8Place cake under broiler to brown topping.
