Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 - eggs
1/6 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon soda

How To Make red devils food cake

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.

Step 2

Add well beaten eggs to which salt has been added and mix well
Step 3

Dissolve soda in boiling water.
Step 4

Sift cocoa with flour, add flour mixture alternately with sour cream.
Step 5

Add soda water and mix well
Step 6

Bake in two greased layer cake pans 35 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
