Makes 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
- PART 1
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup water
- PART 2
- 1/2 TO 2/3 cups shortening
- 1 slice sugar
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 to 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make red chocolate cake

Step 1Mix together Part 1 and bring to boiling point. cook

Step 2Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy, add eggs and beat thoroughly.

Step 3Sift flour; measure and add salt and soda. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with vanilla. Combine with first mixture.

Step 4Pour into two 8" layer pans, greased with flour. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
