NOTE: This is the optional recipe to go with the "Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake" recipe that I have already posted on Just A Pinch...make this dessert topping after the cheesecake has chilled for atleast 24 hours. This is 1 of my late wife's recipes. yield makes 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make praline topping

  • Step 1
    Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat; stirring often
  • Step 2
    Then boil while stirring occasionally for 1 minute
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat
  • Step 4
    Gradually whip in sugar and vanilla until smooth
  • Step 5
    Let stand for 5 minutes while whisking occasionally
  • Step 6
    Use immediately as an optional ingredient to "Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake"
