    sugar
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1 c
    ( 2 stick's ) butter
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    (1 stick ) butter for frosting
  • 1/4 c
    cocoa powder for frosting
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk for frosting
  • 4 c
    ( 1 lb. ) powdered sugar for frosting
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts for frosting

How to Make POLLY'S CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt, in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
  2. Heat butter and water in a sauce pan until boiling. Pour over dry ingredirnts, mix well. Beat in buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Pour thin batter in greased and floured 15 by 10 inch pan.
  4. Bake in 400 degree oven 20 minutes.
  5. While cake is cooling make frosting. When cake is complete cool frost cake.
