This cake is wonderful for fall - moist and rich with so many flavors. We all love it.

  • 2 c
  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
  • 3 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
  • 2 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped dates
  • 3 c
    raw or canned pears
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped

How to Make Pear Cake


  1. Cream together sugar and oil. Add eggs one at at ime, mixing well after each. Set aside
  2. Sift flour with cinnamon, salt and soda, 3 times then add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla, mix. Add coconut, dates, pecans and pears - stirring by hand.
  3. Pour into greased and floured bundt or tube pan. Bake at 325 for 1.5 - 2 hours until cake tests done with wooden toothpick. Cool on rack at least 15 minutes in pan then turn out and cool completely.
