I have no idea where I got this recipe, it isn't in my writing, Grandma's, Barb's or mom's. But I remember eating it, and someone must have given it to me!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour milk (1/4 c white vinegar and 1/4 c milk)
  • TOPPING:
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 9 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make peanut butter cake

  • Step 1
    Bring to boil: 1/2 c butter, 1 c water and 4 T peanut butter.
  • Step 2
    Cool a little and add: flour, sugar and soda. Mix well.
  • Step 3
    Add eggs and sour milk. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees 20 minutes in a sheet cake pan.
  • Step 4
    Topping: Melt all ingredients on stove, remove from heat and add 1 1/2 boxes of powdered sugar. Pour over cake. Topping makes about 6 cups.
