- CAKE:
- 1 cup miracle whip salad dressing not mayonnaise
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 dash salt
- 3/4 cup cold water
- FROSTING:
- 8 ounces pkg. philadelphia brand cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 3 ounces (1 oz. each) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
How To Make original miracle whip chocolate cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350^. Grease and flour or spray two 8-inch layer pans.Set aside. Combine salad dressing and sugar. Blend in vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients to salad dressing mixture alternately with water, mixing well after each addition. Pour into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Frost with: --- Chocolate "Philly" Frosting: Combine cream cheese, milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until well blended. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar. Stir in melted chocolate. Spread between and sides of cake ,frosting top last.
