  • CAKE:
  • 1 c
    miracle whip salad dressing not mayonnaise
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c
    sifted cake flour
  • 1/2 c
    baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 dash
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    cold water
  • FROSTING:
  • 8 oz
    pkg. philadelphia brand cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 dash
    salt
  • 5 c
    powdered sugar, sifted
  • 3 oz
    (1 oz. each) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

How To Make original miracle whip chocolate cake

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350^. Grease and flour or spray two 8-inch layer pans.Set aside. Combine salad dressing and sugar. Blend in vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients to salad dressing mixture alternately with water, mixing well after each addition. Pour into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Frost with: --- Chocolate "Philly" Frosting: Combine cream cheese, milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until well blended. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar. Stir in melted chocolate. Spread between and sides of cake ,frosting top last.
