These are so easy to make that when I get a last minute call from one of our kids, friends or family I whip them up and they never seem to last. Daddy always has to have the first one while they are still hot.

    cooking oil
  • 6 Tbsp
    cocoa, unsweetened
  • 4
  • 2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    light karo syrup
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    nuts (optional)

How to Make One Bowl Brownies


  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees (325 degrees if using a glass pan)
  2. Grease or spray 8 x 12 pan. Put oil in a bowl. Stir in cocoa, eggs, sugar, Karo and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt into cocoa mix. Stir in nuts if you are using them.
  3. Pour into baking dish and bake.
  4. They are chewier if you do not over beat or over bake.
