oatmeal cake
My Mother used to make this cake when I was a little girl. Its a little different but it make a delicious cake. I hope you enjoy this cake.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups boiling water
- 1 cup quick oats
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup nuts
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup raisins
- ICING
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup nuts
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1 1/2 teaspoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons cream
How To Make oatmeal cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour boiling water over oats. Cream together sugars, eggs, and butter for 3 minutes. add to cooled oats. Sift together flour, cinnamon, and baking soda. Then add to oatmeal mixture. Fold in vanilla, nuts and raisins.Pour into 9x13 greased and floured pan. Bake 30 minutes.

Step 2ICING: Mix all ingredients together and put on top of warm cake. Return to oven for additional 10 minutes. Cake should be finished but insert toothpick in center to see if it comes out clean.
