This is one of my favorite cakes from when I was little. In fact, I always asked for this cake for my birthday because I loved it so much. It is simple but delicious. I have tried other oatmeal cakes, but none measure up to my mom's. I hope you enjoy it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Nutty and moist, this oatmeal cake is a wonderful recipe full of delicious nostalgia. It's so good, forget a plate. You'll find yourself eating it from the pan. The texture is almost like an ooey gooey cake but so much better. It's rich, sweet, and full of spices. The caramelized topping is almost like a German chocolate frosting. Baking it under the broiler makes the topping super gooey. Since it's put on the cake while warm, it melts into the cake. So good! The Test Kitchen
