Our Kentucky jam cake. My mom has made this ever year for us for Christmas.Now i help her we make about 13 cakes .a about a week befor Christmas. There is 8 of us kids we have a big family.This is our family tradition. This was my Great grandmothers recipe.It is so good hope you like

buttermilk

sugar

walnuts

blackberry jam, seedless
1 c
raisins
1 tsp
allspice, ground
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
clove, ground
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt

IN LARGE BOWL MIX EVERTHING TOGETHER WELL PUT IN GREASE AND FLOURED TUBE PAN

Step-by-Step

  • 1bake at 350 for 20min Then turn oven down to 275 bake for about 1 hour brush orange juice over cake and wrap in foil while still hot . You could put iceing on it . Caramel iceing would be good Some times my grandmother did that.
