My Favorite Banana Bread

Everyone has their favorite banana bread recipe. This is mine!

It is moist and flavorful...a great way to use up over-ripe bananas. I think the kids let them go brown on purpose!

1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
1/2 c
butter (softened)
3/4 c
dark brown sugar
1 tsp
2 large
eggs (beaten)
2 1/2 c
bananas (over-ripe and mashed)
1/2 c
walnuts (chopped, optional!)

How to Make My Favorite Banana Bread


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x5 inch loaf pan with Pam or Baker's Joy.
  • 2In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar then add vanilla.
  • 3Stir in eggs and bananas until blended, then add flour mixture to moisten and don't overmix. (If you are adding nuts, fold them into batter). Pour batter into pan.
  • 4Bake for about an hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
