This recipe came from a friend of my uncle's who bragged about it on Facebook last night. We all took too much bragging and wanted the recipe. Hope yawl enjoy it.

- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour (cake flour)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 5 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make mrs. branning's chocolate pound cake

Step 1Sift dry ingredients, adding a little at a time to the creamed butter and Crisco, along with a little milk, and one egg at a time, until well blended.

Step 2Grease and flour cake pan. Bake at 275-300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR UNTIL BAKING TIME IS UP!
