Growing up we called this "blueberry pudding" and it was eaten in a bowl covered with sugar and milk. I never ate it that way, it's good all by itself!
My grandson requests this for his birthday cake!

Ingredients

  • 4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 pt
    blueberries
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • ·
    sanding sugar or regular sugar

How to Make Mom's Blueberry Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl, except blueberries.
  2. Gently fold in blueberries with a spoon or spatula. Pour into greased 9 x 13 baking pan. Sprinkle with sugar if using.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
