How To Make melinda maple nut cake

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a a 12 cups pan with shortening and flour it slightly.
  • Step 2
In a large bowl beat all cake ingredients with an electric mixer . Beat for about 3 minutes. Pour into pan. Bake about 40 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes and remove form the pan and cool it about 2 hours.,
  • Step 3
In a large bowl beat powdered sugar, butter, cream cheese and syrup with an electric mixer. Beat in enough of the remaining syrup to make a smooth soft frosting that flows down the sides of the cake. Glaze the cake. Melinda would always comment to me "Francine you always could use more Bourbon than syrup...(ha ha) Take a swig!
  • Step 4
Note that Melinda does not use real maple syrup because the flavor of the imitation maple syrup is more intense.
