I got this recipe from one of my neighbors when I lived up on my beautiful mountain.

I really miss my kitchen with it's beautiful windows with the views over looking my gardens and apple trees.

Convection Oven


  • 1 lb
    date, pitted and chopped and with a little flour
  • 1 lb
    nuts, you choice. i use a combination of nut, brazil, pecan, walnut, hazelnut and macademia
  • 1 c
  • 3 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 5
    exlarge eggs, beaten
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanila extract

How to Make McGee's Date Nut


  1. Mix the flour, dates and nuts together. Add the cup of sugar, then the eggs, vanilla, and then the baking powder. Mix well.
  2. Place the dough in a well grease/floured loaf pan. With a serving spoon press down on the dough to help release any air bubbles.
  3. Bake 350* for 45 minutes.
