This is a tried and true dessert that is pretty simple to make and addictive to eat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 package store-bought angel food cake
  • 2 packages strawberry gelatin (3 oz each)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 16 ounces frozen strawberries

How To Make linda's frozen strawberry cake

  • Step 1
    Stir softened ice cream.
  • Step 2
    Tear angel food cake into small pieces and place them into a large mixing bowl. Stir angel food cake into softened vanilla ice cream.
  • Step 3
    Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
  • Step 4
    Add frozen strawberries and stir until cooled.
  • Step 5
    Mix the gelatin and strawberries with the cake and ice cream mixture.
  • Step 6
    Line a tube pan with plastic wrap.
  • Step 7
    Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Step 8
    Cover and freeze until solid; overnight if needed.
  • Step 9
    When ready to serve, turn it out onto a plate. Slice when ready to serve. Cover leftovers tightly with foil and store in the freezer.
