Lemon Buttercream Frosting

We could eat this lemon buttercream with a spoon it's so good. We love that Desiree uses the natural flavor from the zest and fresh lemon juice things the frosting a bit. Add the juice a little at a time until the proper consistency is achieved so the frosting doesn't get too thin. It's super easy to make and so good. We topped a lemon cupcake with it and it was lemon heaven.
This buttercream frosting recipe makes a lot of frosting. If you're making a layer cake, follow the ingredients as listed. If you're icing up to 24 cupcakes or a 9x13 cake, we'd suggest cutting the recipe in half.
