joan's lemon glazed cake
This recipe was given to me by my dearest friend, Joan Kretzschmar. My daughters and I watched her make it several times, and we always have it for special occasions, and remember laughing with our dear Joan.

Ingredients
- 1 box duncan hines butter yellow cake mix
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 - zest of one lemon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
How To Make joan's lemon glazed cake

Step 1Bake cake as directed on box. It's best to use a disposable 13x9 foil cake pan. While it's baking, prepare the icing.

Step 2As soon as you take cake from oven, punch holes in the cake with a big cooking fork.

Step 3Pour the icing all over the cake so that it goes down into the holes.

Step 4Let cool completely, then sprinkle with more powdered sugar. It's especially good if you make it the day before.
