My mother in law gave me this recipe about 5 years ago . This cake recipe is very good . my husband loves this .

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice, fresh
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4
    apples . peeled , cored & sliced
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar

How to Make Jewish Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F ,
    Grease & flour 1 10 inch tube pan or a bundt pan will do to.
    Combine the ground cinnamon , 5 tablespoons of sugar and apples . mix them then set aside for now.
  2. In large mixing bowl , combine flour, salt , baking powder , 2 cups sugar , stir in veg oil , beaten eggs , orange juice and vanilla . mix well
  3. pour 1/2 of the batter into prepared pan , top with 1/2 apple mixture . pour the remaining batter over the apples then pour remaining batter then top that with the remaining apple mixture .
  4. Bake at 350 f for 70 to 90 minutes . either serve warm , or if you want to serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top .
