My mother in law gave me this recipe about 5 years ago . This cake recipe is very good . my husband loves this .

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, fresh
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 - apples . peeled , cored & sliced
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons sugar

How To Make jewish apple cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 F , Grease & flour 1 10 inch tube pan or a bundt pan will do to. Combine the ground cinnamon , 5 tablespoons of sugar and apples . mix them then set aside for now.
  • Step 2
    In large mixing bowl , combine flour, salt , baking powder , 2 cups sugar , stir in veg oil , beaten eggs , orange juice and vanilla . mix well
  • Step 3
    pour 1/2 of the batter into prepared pan , top with 1/2 apple mixture . pour the remaining batter over the apples then pour remaining batter then top that with the remaining apple mixture .
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 f for 70 to 90 minutes . either serve warm , or if you want to serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top .
