Ingredients
- 1 cup melted butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 5 - very ripe bananas (black is great) mashed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (mixed into sour milk)
- 3 cups flour
How To Make great aunt hilda's banana cake

Step 1Blend melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time until well blended. Mix in mashed bananas.

Step 2Mix baking soda into sour milk (can be made with 1 tbls vinegar or lemon juice mixed into the milk) Be careful....it will expand!! Mix 1 cup four into batter, then 1/3 of the milk, another cup of flour, another 1/3 of the milk, the last cup of flour and final 1/3 of milk. Make sure batter is well blended.

Step 3Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Makes 3-8" pans, or 2-9" pans, or 1 Bundt pan. Bake at 300 for 45-60 minutes Let cool completely and ice with your favorite icing. Particularly good with home made chocolate icing!!
