This recipe came from my grandmother. She died when I was a teenager and I am happy a cousin gave me this to remember her by. I only have good memories of her and helping her in the kitchen, so this is extra special.

    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 c
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp

    egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 c
    heavy sweet cream (borden's eagle brand sweetened condensed)
  • 5
    egg whites, stiffly beaten

  • 1 3/4 c
    graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1/3 c

How to Make Grandma McGinniss' Cheese Cake


  1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and sugar. Press into a springform pan.
  2. Mix first five ingredients. Mix in heavy sweet cream. Fold in egg whites. Pour into crust. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
  3. Run knife around edge as soon as you take pan out of the oven. Open pan 1/2 hour later.
